Prospects, Mining for Maine Riches

PROSPECTS, Mining Maine for Riches (2020) is the story of Canadian copper miner Clarence
Potter. After reading a booklet about the discovery of tourmaline crystals in Maine, he leaves a
difficult life in Ontario and moves to Oxford County to “get rich quick” in the 1890’s. His arrival
makes life difficult for the Millett and Hallett families, especially Lizzie who already has
struggles of her own. Readers who have an interest in minerals and gems will find the depiction
of mining history to be very accurate.
